New trophies for 2017

Huge thanks to the 5 people, named below who have very kindly purchased the 6 new trophies (pictured), these will be presented during the 2017 Festival and beyond:-

John Kennaugh Memorial Trophy for D20a The Spoken Word (Year 1) presented by Mrs Margaret Kennaugh.

Rene Savage Award for D12 Group Theme (Years 7 to 13) presented by Barbara Gale in memory of her mother.

Gale Force Theatre School Trophy for D41 Original Composition in Poetry or Prose (Up to Year 11) also presented by Barbara Gale.

Broadway Theatre Company Trophy for D39 Choral Speaking (Up to Year 13) presented by Carrie Hunt.

Gordon Kennaugh Astill Trophy for the Most Entertaining Programme (not necessarily the winner) in the D10 Brass Bands class presented by Mrs Sheila Astill in memory of her husband who was a long time Conductor of Onchan Silver Band.

Doris Pearl Kermode Salver for D42 Original Composition in Poetry or Prose (Years 12 and over) presented by Mrs Mary Templeton in memory of her mother. 

Dorothy Leece Memorial Cup for D9(c) Contemporary Manx presented by her daughter Christine Leece. 

Sharon Rye School of Dance for the Country/national Dancing (Yp to Year 6)

In addition, the Festival will present a new salver to the new Adult Country/National Dance class winners in recognition of the kindness and support which Shirley Savage has given Guild competitors, organisers and audiences front of house at the Villa Marina for so many years. 

I think we might need larger tables at the Villa next year for all our fabulous trophies.
