Proud to Partner UNESCO BIOSPHERE
The Manx Competitive Music, Speech and Dance Festival has now become a culture partner of UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man is a special place for people and for nature. The Island is proud to have been awarded UNESCO status as a UNESCO world biosphere region - the first entire island Nation to gain this prestigious accolade by the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere programme.
A major part of the Biosphere programme is to recognise the exceptional quality of life in the Isle of Man of which a massive part is the rich heritage and culture of the Island and its strong sense of community. We who are involved in the Manx Music Festival contribute very strongly to both of these through the participation of over 4,000 people in the Festival in April each year. By participating in the Festival, competitors enjoy performing, build their confidence, engage with others and learn for the future. Our partners across the Island engage with us to make what is the largest community even in the annual calendar and continue an amazing tradition lasting over 125 years.
The Festival looks forward to engaging with the Biosphere programme in the coming months and years.
