Syllabus change
Special Classes - For the 2008 Festival the format of the six Special Solo classes will revert to two set pieces, with the winners of each class being able to change one of the set pieces to one of their own choice for their appearance in the Cleveland Medal Final.

   Not so much News as History
The very first performance of the Manx National Anthem took place on 21st March 1907, one hundred years ago this year. It was written by W H Gill and the translation ino Manx was by Mr J J Kneen. The melody is based on the traditional "Mylecharane". The premier was given by the Combined Choirs accompanied by Mr Harry Wood's Orchestra. Eight verses in English followed by the same in Manx.

   Mavis Kelly Tribute - May 20
A reminder for Saturday, 20th May at Peel Cathedral, if you don't already have it in your diary. Mavis's great friend Eleanor Shimmin has arranged a tribute concert to celebrate Mavis's musical accomplishments. Eleanor hopes that it will include all Cleveland Medallists singing together as a group plus various other items. Some of Mavis's own compositions and arrangements will be featured.
