2006 - Day 8
The final day of the 2006 festival saw the Cleveland Gold Medal awarded to Ruth Tickle, soprano, adding a new name to the list of winners of the top singing award. Barbara Lowe, the illustrious adjudicator, was full of praise for Ruth's performance. Ruth later admitted that winning a Cleveland Medal had been a dream for her since before she was a teenager even. Ruth also won the duet final with Jane Corkill.
Camilla Brahde & Harriet John won the duologue for under 14s, Arbory School A, Onchan School “B”, Perree Bane and Manx Folk Dance Society Juniors were the winners in the dance competitions.
In the junior choir classes, Buchan Choir, St Thomas’ C.E. School, Laxey School Boy's Choir, Peel Clothworkers' School, Kiaull Falga, Musica Viva, Victoria Rd School and Covingys Maynrey were all winners. The open choral classes were won by Covingys Maynrey, Glenfaba Male Voice Choir, Manx Voices and Musicale. For further details of all the competitions see the Results section.

   2006 - Day 7
The final two finalists for the Sheffield Plate were chosen this morning. Joanna Frankwick and Johanna Downing-Green winning their classes to qualify. When the competition took place in the evening it was Freya Coates, the 11 year old, who won the Plate. Also today Kelly Collard won the Girls Solo for 16 and 17 year olds and together with Kerry Middleton won the duet class. Terence Qualtrough won the Oratorio Solo and the four winning duets were Jane Corkill & Ruth Tickle, two classes, Susan Tummon & Simon Fletcher and Andrew Williamson & Peter Cringle.
In the spoken word classes James Green won the Public Speaking under 14, Pia Galante the Character Sudy under 12, Stephanie Gray the Character Sudy for over 18s and Tony Hawkes & Olivia Black the duologue for over 18s.

   2006 - Day 6
The Cleveland Medal Test line up is now complete with Ernie Thorn and Mandy Griffin winning the Tenor and Mezzo Soprano classes. Simon Fletcher became only the third singer to be awarded an Honours mark when he won the Songs from the Musicals class.
It was time for the woodwind classes, which saw larger entries this year, and these resulted in wins for Gwilym Jones, Emma Cashmore and Ruth Keggin.
The junior Spoken Word classes continued with Domenica Galante winning the class for 8 year olds. Ross Ripamonti won Reading from the Bible, Christopher Lodge the Shakespeare and Graihagh Cordwell the Character Study.
