2006 - Day 5
Jane Mayne and Kenneth Bawden reach the Cleveland Medal final by winning the Special Contralto and Special Baritone solo classes. Allan Wilcocks continued his successful week with a win in the British Composers. Various recorder classes held in the Royal Hall were won by Illiam Quane, Ellen & Illiam Quane, Henrietta Hammonds, Rebecca Halliday and Poppy Evans & Becci Owen.
In the Promenade Suite, Spoken Word classes were won by Georgia Maddocks, Caleb Bester, Pia Galante and Torin Wakeman, the duologue by Amelia O”Shea & Coral Baker and the character study by Joel Rowlands.

   2006 - Day 4
The first two Cleveland Medal finalists won through from their classes today. Terence Qualtrough won the Special Bass to qualify and Ruth Tickle the Special Soprano, both retaining the trophies that they had won in 2005. In the evening session two more singers retained trophies, Karen Elliott the F M Cubbon Rose Bowl for the Lieder final and Allan Wilcocks the Sir Laurence and Lady New Rose Bowl for the Victorian or Edwardian Song. Allan was awarded only the second Honours mark for a singer so far in the festival in doing so.
Various schools shared the honours in the morning session with Kewaigue, Foxdale, Ramsey's Albert Road, Peel's QE II & Castletown's KWC all winning classes, an interesting geographical spead with Kewaigue holding the fort for the East.
Katarina Holmes and Freya Coates won their girl's solo classes for their ages to reach the Sheffield Plate final (recent previous winners of this final are listed on page 73 of the programme). Freya also won the Folk Song under 14 class. Matthew Gallagher-McBrier's successful Guild continued with a win in the Folk Song under 18 class.
Cellists shone on the String classes, Eleanor Jones gining the highest mark in winning the under 16 class.
Spoken Word classes were well supported in the Cinema with Freya Garry, Joel Rowlands, Emily Magee, Emma Sayle, Jonathon Knowles, Charlie Williams & Sophie Pilkington all recording victories.

   2006 - Day 3
This morning, Monday, in the Promenade Suite the six finalists for tomorrow evening's Lieder final were decided. They will be, in descending order of voice range, Karen Elliott, Mandy Griffin, Ann Fletcher, Ernie Thorn, Graham Crowe & Andrew Williamson. This afternoon five of the nine finalists for Friday evening's Sheffield Plate were chosen, being Ian bell, Caleb Bester, James Green, Emily Mylchreest & Graihagh Brew.
In the Royal Hall, Alex Ferrier won all three piano classs for 14 & 15 year olds, Emily Coates and Eleanor Jones each took a class for 12 & 13 year olds. Helen Pooley, Jenny Gilbert, Rachel Kissack, Hannah Corrin, Terence Lennon & John Riley were the winners in the other solo classes.
