We're Back!

Sep 1, 2021
THE GUILD RETURNS FOR A ONE NIGHT ONLY EXTRAVAGANZA…WITH A TWIST!
Following two years of cancellations and postponements, the Manx Music Speech and Drama Festival, more affectionately known as The Guild, will be returning with a bang this September!
In anticipation for the upcoming festival in 2022, the Guild committee alongside local production company, Stage Door Entertainment, will be staging a celebratory concert with a twist at Ballakermeen Studio Theatre on 24th September 2021. The performances will be from the teachers as opposed to the students!
Kristene Sutcliffe, who is codirector of Stage Door Entertainment, alongside Lisa Kreisky says “The focus of this spectacular event will be on the teachers, who have supported the festival over the years and without whom there would be no competition at all.”
“We hope that Guild enthusiasts and students alike will come along for this ONE NIGHT ONLY extravaganza, to be inspired as well as entertained.”
The evening is set to showcase and celebrate the talents and commitment of these inspirational teachers while also gives audiences a chance to reconnect, after 18 months of trying and uncertain times.
Jaqueline Yates, company secretary says “We are looking forward to honouring our teachers, who are key to the festival’s success. We will be coming back bigger, better and stronger.”
Ann Clarke, Festival Chairmen added “We have some fantastic people confirmed including Olivia Landels, Mandy Griffin, Steve Daykin, Gareth Moore, Katie Lawrence, Judith Christian, Kate Cain, Zoe Cannell, Danielle Bridson and Frank Woolley to name but a few.”
Tickets for “WE’RE BACK: an evening of music, dance and drama, celebrating our wonderful teachers” are limited and are priced at £6 for adults and £2 for children.
